The highlight of my night was the hilarious “Waiting for Laura” from Ben and Justin Presents. Benjamin Miller-Jones and Justin King have tremendous chemistry and perform this comedic take on “Waiting for Godot” with precision and professionalism. Add in the delightful Lizzie Miller as Laura Dern’s assistant with smart and tight direction from Greg Mallios and you’ve got another must see show at this year’s Fringe! Highly recommended.
I also saw “A Perfect Day Away.” I love a great play, with strong narrative that plays on traditional structure and keeps you guessing. It’s a really solid script and definitely a show worthy of inclusion in the festival like this. Klae Bainter’s story about how the script came to be is as compelling as the show itself.
The night ended with the popular adults-only Puppet Slam, which was well attended. I, per usual, sat outside and deepened connections with other artists and patrons - which is my favorite thing about Fringe! I’ll be back to do it again tonight, too. Will I see you there?
